Why Does Change Seem So Difficult?

So many of the clients who reach out to me want to know why change seems so impossible for them to make in certain areas of their life.

The truth is, many of the reasons you struggle have absolutely nothing to do with your willpower or willingness to change. The ability to change certain outcomes lies within your ability to know how to rewrite the old code.

So here it is:

Truth Bomb #1:  It is more than possible to create change, yet difficult when you don’t know how or where to start.

Truth Bomb #2:  95% of your hardware (internal belief system including things like the core identity of who you are and how the world works) was installed in the first 7 years of your life. Have you had an upgrade recently?

Truth Bomb #3:  Around the age of 10 years old something referred to as the critical factor becomes fully formed. This acts as the bouncer between your conscious and subconscious mind helping to protect all of the previous programming that has already occurred and therefore making it difficult to allow new programming to run against it.

Truth Bomb #4:  In order to rewire your thoughts and beliefs to support new programming, you need to get around this critical factor which hypnosis is highly effective in doing.

Truth Bomb #5:
No matter how much willpower or how rational a person you are, if the early age programming has created a series of protection mechanisms that find your interest in say public speaking to be dangerous to your self-esteem, then you will likely break out in anxious feelings, sweating, racing thoughts, throat closing up, stomach tightening and all because your subconscious believes this to be a potential threat to the system.

Truth Bomb #6:  Your deep inner mind can be reprogrammed through the deconditioning and reconditioning process of hypnotherapy which allows you to upgrade your life and be able to live intentionally rather than being subject to the old coding from your youth.

Your conscious mind is the place of reason, willpower, analysis, and temporary memory. Your subconscious is a storehouse of permanent memories and beliefs that have created the foundation for emotions, thought patterns, and habits that are meant to protect you.

*This diagram shows how hypnosis is able to break through the critical factor to the subconscious mind to affect the positive changes you want.

This is why it is so hard to change habits for many of us when we find that our willpower and rational mind simply aren’t enough. It can be so frustrating!

I’m here to tell you that it’s not your fault! This foundation was created long before you knew it even existed. The good news is that you are able to rewrite the program and create your life now how you want it to be.

Once the subconscious mind accepts an idea, it begins to execute it.

If you are feeling stuck working through behaviors and attitudes that are not serving up the life you most want to live, you might consider trying something new.

Things you might begin trying on your own are meditation, journaling, as well as Tai Chi, Yoga, and Qi Gong which each hold a variety of benefit.

While there are a number of avenues to which you might find helpful such as a therapist, coach, hypnotherapist, and support group. Among these you will find a wide range of practices, philosophies, and focuses. Take your time to find partners who are able to align with your goals in a way that feels right to you. You can schedule a Discovery Call to learn more about working with me and see if this is a good fit for what you’re looking to achieve.
